- Touch ‘General’.
- Touch ‘Bluetooth’.
- Slide the Bluetooth bar to ‘On’.
- The iPhone will be discoverable while on this page.
- Move the phone next to ECKey.
- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.
- When prompted on the iPhone, enter in the PIN (default 1234) touch ‘Connect’
- If you are using iPhone Version 4 OS and you are not prompted for a PIN within 30 seconds please try the following.
- Return to Settings->Network->Internet Tethering.
- While on this screen with Bluetooth on and whether or not tethering is enabled the iPhone is also discoverable.
- If the PIN is correct the status light will remain lit for 5 seconds.
- To make the iPhone one of the two hidden phones that can unlock an ECKey EK3 or EK4 without being discoverable, press the administration button twice during this 5 second confirmation. Note that only two phones can be registered as hidden phones. The Status Light will show repeating double flashes if successful. If there are already two devices registered in this way the oldest registered phone will be returned to a standard phone that needs to have its Bluetooth discoverable to unlock/open the door and the new one will be registered as a hidden phone.
- The apple iPhone has successfully paired with an ECKey.
Due to Apple firmware issues, the following additional steps are sometimes required to make the phone discoverable. - Touch ‘General’
- Touch ‘Settings’ and slide the ‘Airplane Mode’ to ‘On’ and then ‘ Off’ again.
- Touch ‘General’, ‘Bluetooth’ to return to the Bluetooth screen.

to create a short cut on the home page to turn Bluetooth on and Bluetooth discoverability on to trigger ECKey and open the door.

AndroidMake an Android phone discoverable and pair with ECKey- From the home page, move to the required screen and select ‘Settings’.
- Select ‘Wireless & networks’.
- Select ‘Bluetooth’ to ensure the tick is green.
- Select ‘Bluetooth Settings’.
- Select ‘Discoverable’.
- The Android will be discoverable for 120 seconds.
- Move the phone next to ECKey.
- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.
- When prompted on the Android phone, enter in the PIN (default 1234) and select ‘Ok’
- If the PIN is correct the status light will remain lit for 5 seconds.

- Select Discoverable, and select ‘Yes’.
- Save changed settings.
- The Blackbery will be permanently discoverable.

- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.
- When prompted on the phone, hold the phone where you would like the phone to trigger ECKey.

Points to Note
- If you made your Blackberry discoverable you do not need to "Search" or "Listen" for ECKey. ECKey searchs for your phone so the Blackberry needs to be able to "listen". With discoverable = yes in the Bluetooth options this meets that it is always listening.
- If your Blackberry has discoverable = no in the Bluetooth options then your will need to manually make the Blackberry "Listen" for ECKey to find it or register your Blackberry as a hidden device. See your ECKey user guide on how to register your phone as a hidden device.
- The Blackberry oftens tried to connect to ECKey and asks to make a connection to ECKey. ECKey does not require a connection. If you choose yes the Blackberry will say connection failed. The Blackberry will still be correctly registered with ECKey and this does not indicate a fault. This conection fail shows that ECKey will not accept connections (unless it is in administration mode).

- Scroll down to ‘Connection’.
- Select ‘Bluetooth Link’.
- Scroll down to ‘Setup’.
- Select ‘Power’ and set to ‘On’. This turns on the Bluetooth on the Motorola and sets it to discoverable.
- Move the phone next to ECKey.
- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.
- When prompted on the phone, hold the phone where you would like the phone to trigger ECKey.
- Enter in the PIN (default 1234). Then select ‘OK’.
- If the PIN is correct the status light will remain lit for 5 seconds.
- If the status light does not remain lit for 5 seconds, double check the PIN and repeat again.
- If the phone still does not pair, refer to the ECKey support center for more information.
- The phone has successfully paired with an ECKey.
- Note: Motorola only leaves the Bluetooth unconnected in discoverable mode for 60 seconds, after that it sets the Bluetooth to hidden. If the phone has left discoverable mode, select ‘Find Me’ to put the Motorola into discoverable for another 60 seconds.
- To make the Motorola one of the two hidden phones that can unlock an ECKey EK3 or EK4 without being discoverable, press the administration button twice during this 5 second confirmation. Back to the top. LGMake a LG Incite discoverable- Tap ‘LG Menu’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Bluetooth’.
- Select ‘Turn on Bluetooth’ check box in ‘General’ tab
- Select ‘Other devices can discover me’ check box in ‘Accessibility’ tab.
- Tap ‘Ok’.
- The LG phone will be permanently discoverable.
- Move the phone next to ECKey.
- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.

Back to the top. Make a LG Chocolate discoverable- Select Menu.
- Select Settings & Tools.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Select Right Soft Key labelled Settings.
- Select Discovery Mode.
- Use the arrows to select Visible.
- Touch OK.
- The LG phone will be permanently discoverable.
- Move the phone next to ECKey.
- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.
- When prompted on the phone, hold the phone where you would like the phone to trigger ECKey.
- Select ‘Yes’ and enter in the PIN (default 1234). Then select ‘OK’.
- If the PIN is correct the status light will remain lit for 5 seconds.

SharpThe following pairing procedure was carried out on a Sharp GX15. - Enter the Main Menu, scroll over to ‘Settings’.
- Select ‘Connectivity’.
- Select Bluetooth.
- Select ‘Switch On/Off’ and set to ‘On’.
- Move the phone next to ECKey.
- The status light will flash once every second to indicate that ECKey is trying to pair with a phone.
- When prompted on the phone, hold the phone where you would like the phone to trigger ECKey.
- Select ‘Yes’ and enter in the PIN (default 1234). Then select ‘OK’.
- If the PIN is correct the status light will remain lit for 5 seconds.
- If the status light does not remain lit for 5 seconds, double check the PIN and repeat again.
